Default Question about inscriptions...

Just to clear things up a little, can u actually get the inscription that makes it like 15 ^ 50 or 15 vs hexed? Cause if u can salvage that, I will kiss whoever made this update, I swear. It will be much easier. If not, thats ok. Not like it changed. Also, I always thought u COULD get updates and stuff for casters wands, staves, and offhands? Now ppl saying its a big deal. I guess there was no upgradeable stuff for those things. Anyway, just to clear that up. Cause if u can salvage the 15 ^ 50 mods etc. That would make prices go WAY down :P

I got a 14^50 after about 14 minutes of playing & managed to salvage it .Bad news is old weapons do not have a free insignia slot, semi-bad news is collector & weapon-smith weapons have a free slot, good news is ^50 weapons wont be overpriced out the wazoo anymore.

Yeah, it looks like any sort of inscription is available. Just go and take a look at a Priest of Balthazar.

Like I said in another post, I'm happy! I managed to salvage a +5 Energy ^50% for casting weapons earlier off a cruddy purple truncheon. It even left me the truncheon afterwards too.

this would mean that the economy of perfectly modded rares has just left the building

Yeah, the rate at which these inscriptions are dropping may just see the end of this 100K +10ectos malarky.

People will be free to make their own 'perfect' weapons.

Anet had ruined a lot of people by doing ths. The rare skin perfect weapons that look good are suppose to be hard to get. Now these things will become a joke. Everyone will be walking around with perfect Rare skin weapons, it's pointless to even use them now. You can argue that the they try to help the new people, but they already did by allow faction weaponsmith to be able to make perfect weapons at a very cheap price. What's the point of Fow and 15k armors. Next step is going to be everyone walking around with the best looking armor in the game. This is absolutely BullS**t.

Not exactly, the rare skins will still be rare. It's just the mods that will be perfect. If someone want's to shell out for a rare skin then that option is still there.

Me, I don't care about the skin of a weapon. I just care about if it's max damage and is modded well. I don't care if it's white, blue, purple, gold or green! It still does the same damage.

No offense, but poor people tends to say that. When i was poor n gw, i used to think 15k armor was a joke and that i only cared about the mods and damage. But your decision will change when you have extra golds that just sit there and collect dust.

Yeah, but I'm not poor!

I have just under 800K in storage, around 500K between all my 7 chars, all the decent weapons I want. I don't have FoW armour because I don't lilke it, I have the ingredients though, but meh!

I'm happy as I am. Although, yes slightly hypocritical, if someone offered me that elusive 15^50 Fellblade for a decent price I'd get it. Only because I love the brutal look of the Fellblade.

15^50 weapons won't be over-priced... But 15^50 inscriptions and rare items with a free inscription slot will be.

masteroflife i dont think you got everything right, Tyrian and Faction weapons cant be modded, so fellblades, brutes, crystallines, dwarvens etc 15^50 are still rare, Ofcourse the prices might go down a bit because there are new skins with Nightfall and people are bored of the tyrian ones.

Quoted for truth. Although I'm not a collector, I can see especially in a few chapters time (if GW makes it) collectors only going for the "factions and tyrian" weapons without inscriptions because of their rarity.

doubtful as hoh items dont have them. also +5nrgy items did not drop in fow or uw until recently.

the market for items in tyria or cantha will still be existant as the inscriptions cannot be applied to them.

So far, only weapons in Elona have an inscription slot, so only those weapons can have the inscriptions removed or replaced. I doubt they will go back and change all the tyrian and canthan weapons to match this, so the old favorites will still be rare and expensive.

if you look at it, as each new chapter is released, guildwars has made the weapons cheaper.
in ch2, the gold item droprate was absolutly atrotious, ur probably more likelyto find a gold weapon in cantha than a white one...in ch3, inscriptions pretty much annihilate any chance of item rarity.
ch1, however, has been around since forver and a half and has had its fair share of item drops. as a result, pretty much only rare-skinned ch1 items will hold price thruought the series.
that having been said, making inscriptions for ch3 only is a FAR better solution than making them for all chapter weapons, as the latter would have absolutly devastated the game's economy.

Is it now possible to put a 20/20 inscription on a staff?
